The Washingtonism Home Shrine/Altar
Scroll down to see photos of my Washingtonist/Americanist shrine/altar and a list of the shrine items to give you inspiration for keeping your own beautiful Washingtonist shrine/altar, and a list of the unique rituals for shrine devotionals, and where you can find these items. There are just four items that are custom-made that I had to have made on etsy or zazzle, the rest are common items that you can find on amazon, zazzle or ebay. The custom-made items are mentioned near the bottom of the page. All individual items have photos. The list and order of rituals can be found at the bottom of this page. Many of the items are miniature versions of full-sized items, such as mini statues, mini musical triangle, mini cherry bowl, mini greek pillars, and mini stained glass piece.
Why, you ask, are many of the shrine items mini? Well, for two simple reasons: 1. mini versions are easier to find. And 2. miniature versions can easily fit on a home shrine table. The shrine/altar table is essentially a home sanctuary space, with a standard-sized wood end table, therefore the mini items can easily find space on it, unlike full-sized statues which would be too heavy or not have enough room on a small or medium table.

3. mini busts/statues of the Founding Fathers: various types found on etsy, amazon, ebay or at Mt. Vernon shops. Patrick Henry statue: found on Red Hill online shop.
James Madison statue: found on
etsy. Ben Franklin statue: can be found on the online shops of Mt. Vernon, Monticello, or ebay. Various Founder busts/statues can also be found on the National Archives online shop.
4. bottle of holy water(washingtonist-style), you can find the bottle on amazon or ebay. You can bless the water in the name of God, Geo Washington and the Founders
5. small offering bowl of faux cherries: faux cherries can be found on etsy, ebay or amazon
6. copy of the Declaration/Constitution(scroll or booklet): can be found in bookstores or amazon
7. Founder books (by and about): wherever these are available or on amazon. You can find a list of these here: https://washingtonism.wixsite.com/washingtonismfaith/scripture
8. pictures of the Founding Fathers: found on ebay
9. Apotheosis of Washington picture, pin, or cloth: can be found on zazzle
10. prayer pillow for kneeling in front of shrine
11.Founding Fathers string dolls or other little Founder dolls: found on amazon, ebay, Mt. Vernon shops, etsy
12. vintage Geo Washington greeting cards: found on ebay
13. American flag: can be found wherever
14. patriotic decoration colors(table cloth, pictures): found anywhere
15. In God We Trust/One Nation Under God sign: on amazon or ebay
16. sacred Geo Washington Mount Vernon tree leaves(a gift from the Ladies of Mt. Vernon)
17. mini greek/roman pillars: can be found on ebay
18. cherry wreath (for the female Washingtonists): can be found on ebay
19. patriotic balloon weight stars centerpiece: can be found on ebay
20. glitter: craft stores or on amazon
21. cherry-scented perfume: can be found on amazon
22. Geo Washington-shaped cookie cutter: found on amazon
23. cherry-flavored candy: can be found at your favorite grocery store

but I had to have the Geo Washington pendant made on etsy.

Rituals, in order:
1. kneel & bow at shrine
2. drop 3 drops of holy water into your palm then rub your hands together
3. ring hand bell nine times
4. turn on faux candles
5. recite names of Founders and Geo Washington on prayer beads
6. Divine Providence gesture with hands
7. Geo Washington symbol gesture
8. cherry gesture using a faux cherry
9. ring triangle instrument to summon Founders
10. kneel & bow again
11. gently touch Founders' foreheads on the mini busts with your hand
12. Apotheosis of Washington energy gesture
13. Founders' book gesture
14. keychain Founder dolls gesture
15. ring bell nine times again
16. holy water ritual again
17. kneel & bow a third time
18. turn off faux candles
